The Story

Gonzag and Charles Odera (The founders of TFEC), wanted to help create a better world for the children living in rural western Kenya. As kind hearted and compassionate people, they simply could not ignore the suffering that was present around them and felt obliged to make a positive change to their community that they care so much about. When observing the conditions of many young children around them, many were homeless, abused, neglected and in need of care. Unfortunately, this means that many children are stuck in a poverty trap, and miss out on basic education. This means that significantly less opportunities will be available to them due to slipping through the cracks of education at a young age. Charles and Gonzag Odera recognised this and through their own hard work and dedication, set up the TFEC.

In addition to the core education they receive, the children also experience love and care that they may sadly not have had outside the centre. Learning the value of family is critical in children's personal development as it allows the child to feel loved and learn family ideals, structure and familiarity.

The school currently has an enrolment of 475 students and this is expected to keep growing.
