Every Child Eats
We are excited to promote the fundraising campaign "Every Child Eats". Here at TFEC we believe that education is key- however no child can learn on an empty stomach.
-Adequate nutrition is crucial for cognitive development, especially in children. A well-balanced diet that includes essential nutrients helps in brain development, concentration, memory retention, and overall cognitive function.
-Students who have access to nutritious food are more likely to perform better academically and have higher levels of school attendance and engagement.
-Additionally, malnutrition and hunger can lead to reduced attention spans, lethargy, and decreased motivation to learn.
-Education can play a role in developing skilled individuals who contribute to the agricultural and food industries. By fostering a well-educated workforce, societies can improve their agricultural practices, food processing, and distribution systems, leading to economic growth and prosperity.
We need your donations to successfully feed the children. Donations will go towards many different sectors of the TFEC and help to generate revenue that will be able feed the children. Examples of where donation money will go are below.
A tractor
We require the one time purchase of a tractor that will have with it a harrow, planter and carrier. Tractors enable farmers to work on larger areas of land, leading to increased production. They can cover more ground in a day compared to traditional methods, allowing for the cultivation of larger fields and higher crop yields. This leads to more food being available for the children.
The total cost of the tractor would be about $48,000
Dairy cows
We wish to acquire Holstein Dairy cows. Holstein dairy cows are a popular and widely recognised breed of dairy cattle known for their high milk production. On average, a Holstein cow can produce between 22,000 to 27,000 pounds of milk per year. They have high butterfat and protein content in their milk, which is ideal for producing various dairy products.
Our target number of cows is 24. Each cow is $1600 meaning the full cost of the cows is $38000.
Agriculture and Land
We need to increase our agricultural space in order to grow more food and to provide more youth with jobs to keep them out of crime. Additional land can also help us build more infrastructure such as accommodation for homeless students and their families.
We hope to acquire 20 acres of land. The cost of 1 acre of agricultural land is $4000. 20 acres would cost $80,000.
To help sustain our programmes
We need as many donations as possible to help out with the range of programmes the TFEC has such as the feeding programme and the junior high school programme.
Our promise
All donations will be used for helping the children develop into healthy and prospering adults.
We hope to raise $5000 in one year to allow us to keep supporting our wonderful children.
